Okay, so, I know this isn't really an issue with PRS, but I can't play because of it, and I'm hoping someone here will be able to figure out how to get Vixy the beautiful ninetales back on.
So, I've been having some issues with Byond. You see, I haven't been on Byond for a year or two now, but I remembered about it and wanted to play. So yesterday I was at first running the old 493 version, and I was having a lot of random moments wherein I would lose connection to the Byond hub (Byond Hub is inaccessible) for a little while before it 'fixed' itself. Later on I downloaded the beta (497), and then when that started having problems too, I downloaded the latest stable build (496) instead. It started working properly and I played PRS for the rest of the day and then shut my computer off and went to bed.
Today, however, it has decided to stop working. I can no longer even login (Byond Hub: Connection failed). I tried re-installing all three versions to no avail, and it doesn't make sense. I have tried temporary lack of firewall, renaming the byond folder 'OldByond', running the install .exe as an administrator, and everything else I can think of.
I'm currently running Windows 7, I haven't got anything odd happening with my computer that I know of, I'm pretty sure I don't have a virus, and I do have a viable internet connection through which I can use every internet-related program I have... except Byond.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix my poor baby?

Can you log on in the BYOND site? Have you tried to clean your BYOND cache? Have you removed BYOND from your computer entirely and tried to re-install it?
If you have any spare computers in your household, you could try to use them to access BYOND and see what happens.

First of all, is BYOND Downloaded correctly? Make sure and download BYOND Again. Login to your BYOND pager. Try to connect from the HUB; click play live and wait for it to start up. If it doesn't start up, you can try to connect manually. From your BYOND Pager, click File > Open location and copy and paste this: 81.71.179.242:4069 NOTE: This Hosting address may change depending on who's hosting and what ports they are using. It's definitely changing next week, though, so keep that in mind. At this point you should be able to play. If not, go to your BYOND Pager to clear your cache. File > Preferences > Games > Clear cahce. When that is done, re-do the steps AFTER Downloading BYOND. Good luck !

I can login on the site. I've tried cleaning my byond cache. I have entirely removed and re-installed it several times. I've just done a system restore to before I even had the problem and it still isn't working.
I have one other computer, but it's having a problem connecting to the internet anyway.
I cannot login to my byond pager. It says I cannot connect to the hub (connection failed).
Still not working. Dx
Because I completely uninstalled it, it no longer has my user data on it. Now it freezes at 'validating key' when I try to login and gives me the above (Byond hub: connection failed) error.
What really amazes me is that you guys are awesome and reply way fast, whereas the actual bugs and issues forum for Byond hasn't gotten me any replies yet. Thanks in advance even if my issue doesn't get solved. <3
PS. When I attempt to connect to 81.71.179.242:4069 manually despite my pager being out of commission it simply states 'connecting' and then 'connecting... failed.' Guest doesn't do anything either.

That would be because we don't allow guest accounts on our site.
OKAY, try something else... What are your firewall / virusscan settings? Or check your router firewall. Make sure BYOND Pager is allowed. This seems like either a problem with allowing the program itself, OR there's a virus blocking your way. Do a virus scan and after that check your firewall settings and also your virus scan settings and check if anything is disabled.
It's weird that connecting to 81.71.179.242:4069 manually isn't working. I think there is something wrong with your byond not being able to receive internet date, that'd be my explanation, since 81.71.179.242:4069 is and HAS been open to everyone.
What virusscan do you use?
Also, please let me know what programs start up once you start your computer up. You can do this by going into start and typing: msconfig >enter. Go to startup, and let me know what's on there. A random backgruond program may be preventing you from using BYOND.

My router doesn't have a firewall section (docsys crap). My firewall has everything Byond-executeable in the program files section listed as an exception, and I just did a full-night virus scan. Nothing is disabled on the virus scan settings (AVG) which has never quarantined anything of Byond's and if it had, the multiple re-installs would have made me aware of it attempting again / fixed it.
(However, last night the scan (before it was apparently interrupted) found three corrupted files in the temporary internet files section, so I'm scanning again, I'll get back to you on the result).
The programs that start up are (after a quick restart):
Realtek HD Audio Manager (For sound) Microsoft Lifecam (two under this name, but they're both legit and for my webcam) D-Link WLAN Application (To extend my wireless signal to my computer) Quicktime Java(TM) Platform SE Auto Updater.
(PS. Before now, I was being annoyed by some of dem background programs, if it wasn't for this I wouldn't have known how to get them to shut up haha)
...Still no. So I agree with you, for now the most likely option seems to be that Byond is having trouble with internet date since the other things aren't the problem thus far, but how do I fix that?

Before we move on to any other step, I want to check out something else, first. Do you have another computer at your house? Can you get on BYOND with another computer on the same address? Tell me if you can or not.

Oh! Sorry, I forgot. Unfortunately, I can't; my other computer can't access the internet right now due to some wiring problems. I just found out that I'm having a problem with another program that accesses the internet as well; I can play it fine offline, but online is a no go (minecraft you make me sad!). Could it be the same thing? Is my computer really screwed up? D: (I'm really sure it isn't a virus but I'm getting antsy about this. It's so annoying! DX) Edit: I just did a scan with a much better virus scan. I had three trojans on my system; they are now gone. Attempting a re-install as administrator, and.... nope. Sigh. So we know it isn't a virus, but what could it be?
